Nazma is an Urban Planner, graduated from JNAFAU, School of Planning and Architecture Hyderabad with a post-graduate degree in M.A Development, Public Policy from Azim Premji University. She worked with State Government of Andhra Pradesh for effective implementation of Urban Infrastructure projects under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), a centrally sponsored scheme. She handled DPR’s for Housing for All Project, Water Supply and Sewerage Treatment Plants, Swachh Survekshan, Solid Waste Management for Kurnool Municipal Corporation. She also handled different CSR funded projects for development of parks and Island Junctions for Kurnool Municipal Corporation.  She has published paper on Policy versus Performance, in LBSNAA, Journal for Land and Rural Studies. She had also presented paper on Development, Displacement, Land Acquisition and Resettlement at Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram on its X international Conference. She has completed certified workshop and course on Street Justice: Law, Governance, and Contestations on Urban Streets with Alternative Law Forum Bengaluru. Her prime and interest Research Areas are Urban Governance, sustainable urban development, Land Governance, Land Economics, Sustainable Transportation and Climate Change.

At NIUM, Nazma works as a Knowledge Manager, and intends to work and explore Urban Governance, Land Governance, Solid Waste Management & Sanitation, Housing and Sustainable Transportation initiatives.
