Sivani Shankar has over a decade of experience in strategy, stakeholder management, partnerships, program design, implementation and people management in the field of Development and Social Businesses.  After interning with the Times Media and Standard Chartered Bank, Sivani joined Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd. as a Communications Executive. He went on to become Chief of Staff for the Office of the Chairperson, assisting with a wide range of responsibilities including program management, field operations, and communications. He also played a role in key initiatives such as the management of the affordable education for low-income households, the design and implementation of client protection, and an innovative initiative to use microfinance for alternate channel offerings and mass deworming.  After Bharat Financial Inclusion, he headed Human Resources for the start-up financial inclusion company, Vaya Financial Services. After Vaya, he became Head of Inclusive Finance India Initiatives at ACCESS ASSIST – a national think tank that works on strengthening the ecosystem for advancing financial inclusion in the country.

At NIUM, Sivani supports planning and business development activities. He also serves as a Trustee for Mitta Foundation and Bodhi Educational Society both working towards providing relevant 21st century education to the marginalized communities in urban slums and under developed districts in Telangana. Sivani completed Executive Management Program from IIM, Bangalore and holds Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Osmania University
